Machinery and equipment safety can be seen to be like a jigsaw puzzle: lots of little pieces that need to be put together correctly to complete the picture. To answer client’s requests and to make engineer’s lives less stressful, Laidler Associates and Safety Systems Technology Ltd have formed a partnership which will cover all aspects of machinery safety from the initial risk assessment, through remedial work to sign off a ‘Complete Safety Solution’.

Laidler Associates are based on Teesside and have been specializing in Risk Assessment and CE Marking services since the company was formed in 1998. Prior to this, all Laidler engineers had been working with CE compliance issues since the legislation came into force in 1993. In 2001 they won the Services category of the Tees Valley Business Awards.

Safety Systems Technology Ltd provide electrical safety solutions, and can supply and fit a range of safety products such as guards, light curtains, emergency stops and switches.

“Many of our clients have begun to ask for a complete turnkey safety solution”, said Paul Laidler, Managing Director of Laidler Associates. “Where previously we had to leave a project after we had carried out an inspection or risk assessment, through this alliance we can over see or manage the project, signing off any risk assessments after Safety Systems have carried out the remedial and modification work”.

Roger Scott, Managing Director of Safety Systems adds: “Our clients are aware that they require products to fulfill a safety function, but often do not take into account their legal duties to provide documented risk assessments and inspections. Working closely with Laidler Associates allows us both to expand our customer service by offering an augmented product”.
