Machine Shop Guarding
Guardsafe supply and install a complete range of both standard and bespoke guards to a wide range of machine tools including:
Drilling Machine Guards
- With a choice of designs including flip up and telescopic, we can offer standard chuck guards for almost any drill/quill diameter, we can also accommodate pear shaped quills and extended spindles.
Lathe Guards
- Chuck Guards - A wide range of standard chuck guards are available for lathes with chuck diameters of up to 1200mm. For larger chucks, we can design and build custom variants of the standard guards or produce a totally bespoke guard.
- Saddle Shields – typically mounted to the cross slide of the lathe although can be mounted to other areas. Saddle shields provide protection for the operator from swarf and coolant when machining at distance from the headstock.
- Lead Screw Guarding – we can supply and install standard lead screw roller covers to lathes with beds of up to 4m. Alternatively another option is to fit a safety edge device positioned so that the operator can easily emergency stop the lathe should they get into difficulty.
Grinder Guards
- Standard grinding wheel guards are available for bench and pedestal grinders to protect the operator from flying debris during operation or wheel dressing.
- We can also supply guards for other types of grinding machines such as Surface Grinders, Cylinder Grinders and Internal Cylinder Grinders.
Milling Machine Guards
- Along with a range of standard milling machine guards for vertical, horizontal, universal and turret machines we can supply bespoke fabricated guards to suit a particular application.
D.C. Braking Systems
D.C. injection braking systems are designed to rapidly stop machinery powered by an A.C. motor. They work by applying a D.C. current to the motor bringing it to a smooth controlled stop in a very short time. We can supply and install D.C. braking systems for A.C. motors of up to 45kw.
